Day by Day

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport, then transfer to your lodge in Arusha. Spend the rest of the day recovering from your journey, taking in the mountain views, and preparing for the days of exploration ahead. Over dinner, your guide will provide an overview of the upcoming safari activities.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Depart Arusha after breakfast, making the short journey to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its dramatic baobab trees and large elephant herds, Tarangire also shelters buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a full-day game drive, pausing for a picnic lunch in the heart of the park. By late afternoon, head to your nearby lodge or tented camp to freshen up and savor dinner beneath a vast African sky.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration

An early start takes you to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera—an awe-inspiring natural amphitheater packed with wildlife. Lions patrol the crater floor, while hyenas scavenge and buffalo graze on lush grasslands. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive black rhino and hippos wallowing near soda lakes. After a picnic lunch in the crater, ascend in the late afternoon and drive back toward Arusha, arriving in time to relax before the next day’s flight.

Day 4: Flight to Zanzibar

Transfer to the local airport for a short flight to Zanzibar. Upon landing, a driver will whisk you to your beach resort, where you can kick off your shoes and soak up the island vibes. Spend the remainder of the day strolling along powdery sands, unwinding by the pool, or savoring freshly caught seafood while the gentle ocean breeze sets a tranquil scene.

Day 5: Stone Town & Spice Tour

Today, opt for a cultural excursion to Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through narrow alleys brimming with local shops, historic mosques, and iconic Zanzibari doors. A guided spice tour reveals the island’s aromatic legacy—cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and more—making for a fun, sensory experience. Return to your resort in time for a sunset swim or beachside dinner.

Day 6: Beach Leisure & Water Activities

Choose between a day of pure relaxation or water-based adventures. Lounge under swaying palms, snorkel through vibrant coral reefs teeming with tropical fish, or consider a traditional dhow cruise as the sun dips below the horizon. Warm ocean waters and an easy-going island rhythm make this the perfect complement to your recent safari days.

Day 7: Departure from Zanzibar

Savor a final breakfast overlooking the Indian Ocean. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be time for a last stroll along the beach or some quick souvenir shopping. Transfer to Zanzibar International Airport, departing with enduring memories of Tanzania’s wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and the tropical charm of this idyllic island.
