Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Moshi
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a friendly driver will transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon taking in views of the mountain, organizing any rental gear, and meeting your trek guide for a full briefing. A comfortable night’s rest prepares you for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Machame Gate →\rightarrow→ Machame Camp
Rise early for a drive to Machame Gate (about 1,800m). Complete registration formalities, then begin the hike through lush rainforest, where you might spot monkeys swinging in the canopy. After several hours of ascending a well-maintained trail, reach Machame Camp (around 3,000m). Settle in among the towering trees and share a hearty dinner before turning in for the night.

Day 3: Machame Camp →\rightarrow→ Shira Camp
Today’s trek leads out of the rainforest and onto the steep, rocky ridge that brings you to the Shira Plateau. Arrive at Shira Camp (3,840m) by mid-afternoon, allowing time to rest, take photos, and enjoy the changing colors of the sky at sunset.

By afternoon, descend into the sheltered Barranco Valley, known for its giant lobelia and senecio plants.

Day 5: Barranco Camp →\rightarrow→ Karanga Camp

Spend the afternoon resting, organizing your gear, and mentally preparing for a summit attempt. An early bedtime is essential, as you’ll rise before midnight to begin the final ascent.

Shortly after midnight, set off on the most demanding stretch of your trek. Greet the sunrise from the roof of the continent, then descend back to Barafu for a brief rest. After brunch, continue downhill to Mweka Camp (3,100m), where a final night on the mountain awaits.

Day 8: Mweka Camp →\rightarrow→ Mweka Gate, Flight to Zanzibar

Later in the day, head to the airport for a short flight to Zanzibar. Upon landing, a driver will take you to your beach resort, where swaying palms and azure waters invite total relaxation.
Day 9: Stone Town Exploration
